The entry's for the London to Canterbury prologe were also non transferable, but that didn't stop certain people still doing it in other peoples names

"Then Mrs A made it all better by telling me she's taking me to Paris for the finish."

You'll still be over there trying to finish the etape :-) :-) :-)

Only kidding - forget about fast times, the pain, all that trianing and just bloody enjoy yerself

[quote="Richard (Apples)"]Well it's almost upon me . I'm flying out on Saturday for the Etape and I'm getting butterflies already.

My bike is on its way already, in a van, lovingly protected in bubble wrap and pipe insullation. :D

I spent the last of my pocket money in Butlers yesterday on a new helmet and some gore xennon bib shorts .

I think I've done enough training but it's too late now if I haven't so no point in worrying .

I'll try to get some photos ( maybe even some nice ones for Sean )

Report when I come back . hope to be on the CR on 21st 8)
May you have good legs Monsieur Apples. With sudden dramatic staff shortages at work I've had to pull out. :( ...Make sure you do a gentle 30-60 minute leg spinner on sunday morning/afternoon. In 2003 I didn't ride the bike in the 48 hours running up to the Etape and it took the legs a couple of hours to get going on the actual day. :D

"30-60 minute leg spinner on sunday"

Indeed - you could go up the Col Du Port :-)

Bad luck Toks, cheers for the advice.

I've not been on the bike all week due to a slight bruise in a tender area.

I'm going to do an hour or so on the turbo tonight and we will be doing some light riding on Sunday :D
