Cardiff 100 Miles RCC 25

No surprises that I was the only agreeable this time - my first time out on a South Wales course (R25/7 in this case).

This is an old fashioned out and home dual carriageway dragstrip complete with gift hill start. The start was a wee bit bendy for me and I bottled out and started freewheeling when the speedo hit 40 mph. The rest of the course consists almost entirely of very long drags (we're talking several miles each) interrupted only by 2-3 miles of off-piste lumpy single carriageway just after the turn before rejoining the dual carriageway. This is a try all the way course so I tried all the way and recorded 59:15, my best since 2000 (and before the asthma).

This should be a really fast course on a good day - wait a minute, it was a good day (or at least late evening) so I guess I just didn't try hard enough. No, I'm still quite pleased really.

Congrats Steve, good to see you in good form. So we have to go to Cardiff for some decent weather.
Will I see you at the H25/1 on July 28?

Terry - yes I'll see you on the H25/1 on the 28th. I'm riding on the A3 instead of Bently the week before.

I wouldn't rush to Wales for the weather - we stayed there overnight and had several hours of torrential rain on Sunday morning. It only stopped once we got well past Bristol on the way home.

The course for this Sat has been changed to H10/1, which I haven`t ridden before, so am looking forward to it.
