My Dad found this well named Pains Hill which he said is a, well a pain.

I have a soft spot for White Hill, which is best approached by going along Pilgrim's Way and doing the first bit of Titsey first so you don't have to hammer on the brakes and turn sharp left in to it.

Not a tough one but a favourite is Botley Hill and its three steps. On a clear day the view when you're on the second step is superb.

This is a tough one, as is Gangers that climbs the same ridge, but I kind of like it as the views are amazing as you walk up it

Coming back up from the Pilgrims Lane on Clark's Lane is a nice little tester, goes on for a bit...

A fine ride it was, too, preceded in my case by Tulse, Knights, Beulah and Sanderstead. Then over to my mum's in Epsom Downs, so up over Riddlesdown and then the long drag from Purley to Banstead. Arrived dripping sun block and generally in such a filthy state that I wasn't allowed in the house - was put straight out into the garden like a dog :?

Excellent dash from there home to Brixton - quiet roads (untl Streatham, of course) downhill and downwind almost all the way - beat my previous PB of 40 minutes, which I'd achieved in a car :)

80 hilly miles all told. Lovely
