Help! Some b*st*rd sent me a link to the Primal Wear catalogue :x

I don't know about other people but I find women's jerseys quite boring over here in the UK. I've got my eye on 3 tops (two sleeveless and one short-sleeved) which with shipping comes to $209.14. Any ideas what UK import tax will be?

I really wanted this one http://www.primal-sports.com/pc-382-30-wild-things-hanging-around-womens-cycling-jersey.aspx but it wasn't available in my size :(

Amy before you buy dont forget to look at

They have great tops but again the shipping is huge, as much as the jersey. I get my sister who has a USA office to buy them as "birthday presents" every time she goes out.

That Primal jersey is brilliant! If you end up ordering please let me know, I've always fancied some of their tattoo arm warmers

As for import taxes, I think it's 12% + UK VAT, if you are unlucky.

Thanks Bo-Gilly - none of the jerseys I was looking at though if Huw wants to buy me Love Hurts or the Fairy Godmother one I won't mind too much :D

Useful to know as they may be able to get Primal Wear in the future but in the meantime I'll have to do a bit more research.

Shame I didn't know about it before as I have seen some of their stuff a couple of years ago

Jo, I daren't look at any more sites but...

I'm going over to the US in mid September if you can hang on til then...alternatively my parents in the US are usually good for "birthday presents" by fedex - as long as you don't mind stuff arriving without labels! :D

Thank you, so many offers - I don't know where to begin :o

I was thinking that I would order the items myself (4 tops, one of which will be a present....) and send them to a willing recipient in the US. I am not in a particular hurry but if whoever is willing to post them to me then I am quite happy to reimburse them in some way.

Perhaps it would be best if I take up your offer, Steve. If you could PM me to let me know what's the best option?

many thanks

Just a thought Amy, do you have to buy then all in one go? I've ordered stuff from the US and got clobbered with import, VAT etc as I think the value was below the set figure. Worth checking but I'm sure I've ordered up to $60 without picking up a fee. Just order one jersey a week.

Thanks for the tip, Andrew; I've no idea on the import rate except that there is one. I'll see what the other Steve Dennis comes up with :D

I have never even thought of this issue before.

Never been asked at post office about whats in the box other than a customs declaration but I just write gift or whatever - noone has ever asked anything about tax etc...?

Sure you can have it posted to me and then I'll forward it to you as an early Christmas gift. Ofcourse I'll have to wrap it and put a bow on it etc to be convincing....

I'll PM my email to you.

Steve

No Marco -no bike on this trip - too much hassle to bring it for a long weekend, especially when the trip also involves traveling to parents etc. Such a shame though as I miss the lanes so much. Maybe I'll be able to pop down to the startof the club run or something.
