Brighton ride: Last minute updates

Any last minute announcements/requests regarding any of the groups please post here:

Almost unbelievably the weather forecast is both raging heat and almost zero winds - a very unusual combination these days, further enhanced no doubt by the acrid stench and searing heat generated by pyres of raw beef being burned clean of Foot and Mouth in the fields.

We are not aware of any road closures at the moment but be aware that a DEFRA official with a flame thrower could be behind any given hedge. Larger riders should abstain from wearing their cow-print lycra.

Don't shoot or burn any riders you see foaming at the mouth on Ditchling Beacon it's unlikely to be the disease, just the effects of trying to race George up the hill.

So lots of fluids and food on board - Don't kill yourselves on the way down cos the ride back WILL BE TOUGH, no matter how good you were feeling up Ditchling. Stalwarts of the Brighton run will tell you countless tales of good riders completely blowing up in the lanes around Bolney and Slaugham on the return leg.

See everyone for pictures on the pier at 12.15
