SCCU 25 - 9th September - Everyone's A Winner!!

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

SCCU 25 - 9th September - Everyone's A Winner!!

Postby Snoop Doug » Mon Aug 13, 2007 6:27 pm

Hey y'all

If you're anything like me (too slow to win owt that is) then why not stick yer name in the hat for the Southern Counties 25 on Sept 9th..? Everyone who signs on for this event collects a point towards the Rawson Shield - I think this is the last qualifying event this year. I reckon we must be pretty much out of sight for this glittering prize by now but hey, why leave anything to chance  ..?

So - if you're a TT ace, if you've never done a 25 before, or if you have and you vowed you'd never do another, here's your chance to get stuck in and be a winner for your troubles. I'm sure it doesn't even scratch the surface of coming close to a proper race win - but hey - they all count folks

Let's nail this thing

Escargosnoop

PS - if anyone wants the details of where to register plus forms etc just pm me and I'll whiz it all over to you.

I'm going to try an ipod this time to try and occupy my mind. Has anybody ridden a TT with one on before? Is it seen as particularly bad form and the starters will frown upon me?

Using an iPOD is specifically breaking CTT Rule no. 19 (a):

"Competitors must not wear head/earphones associated with audio equipment except hearing aids"

You have been warned

Your mind should be fully occupied with making your body go as fast as possible.

Bugger! Don't think I could get away with the old white headphone cord coming out my pocket as a hearing aid.

I know, I know. The trouble is with a mind as small as mine it gets distracted very......ooo what's that.

I'm not a natural tester Jon and I get lonely out there on my own. :(

Play on words Ian? Oppenheimer tune. Was going to go with something a big more aggresive  .

Don't think the earphones would be an issue as they'd be covered by the aero helmet thingy, more the wire coming from the pocket (don't want to put a hole in the jersey), and taping the ipod in the pointy bit of the helmet is bound to end up in disaster with it falling out at some point.

This little debate is bound to upset some but I really don't see why it's a problem as shurely it's no more dangerous than having the stereo on when you're driving.

Brought up and live in yes, born in East London. Really should have a few Argos half sovereign rings  .

Could somebody PM me the organisers details for this. I have left my handbook at work and am not there now until 03/09.

Thanks

Got the startsheet this morning - 10 Addiscombe riders, and thankfully I've not got a too early start time. The Rawson Shield is ours, all ours, muhahaha!

BTW Tamar this is the second or third startsheet I've had with Keith off shortly after you. Is this an incentive for him to go quicker or you? If they get the handicaps right do you both cross the line together.

Mark McLaughlin is off two minutes after me. So - how long can I hold him off (to the nearest 30 secs). Winner gets a mystery prize
