Hey David and Marco, Eric B and Rakim's Juice (know the Ledge) and JVC Forces' Strong Island are definitly one's to have in any respectable old school rap collection.But sorry guys, My Philosophy by Boogie Down Productions and PE's Welcome to the Terrordome are true HIP HOP classics.

Respect for 'Rebel Without a Pause'! I've kinda grown out of Hip Hop since it started getting all R&B and gangsta based (mainnstream). I prefer the more political stuff by PE, Dead Prez and Michael Frente (Disposable Heroes - "the only cola that I support would be a Union C.O.L.A. Cost Of Living Allowance"....classic line!!) I've got bits and pieces by Nas, Snoop, Jay Z and Outcast but you can't beat the old 'uns (do I sound old?).

Hey Guys, I've gotta come clean. I'm at the wrong end of my thirties and and my Hip Hop days are well and truly behind me. So unless one of my 'show no shame' old school buddies drags me to a Hip Hop JAM, I probably won't go. However, of the recent stuff I like the sounds of Naz and some Jay Zee. word, word, got a lot of respect for 'rebel without a pause'

some of the funnier dr dre produced gangsta stuff was cool - used to play snoop quite a lot

i've got a full-length (15 min) copy of sugarhill gang's 'rappers delight', which, though very cheesy, often gets a spin

i used to enjoy some of the cheeky/rude tunes too - digital underground's 'sex packets' being a classic

i like the sound of that exhibition - i'll probably check it out over christmas

Top line up Elliot, I know its cheesy but for me the one classic that gets me fired up within the first few beats has to be Straight Outta Compton.

Up for that exhibition as well, know a few others who will be too, if its on until January what about a trip up there the second weekend in Jan?
