Have just replace my TT bars so have a set of HED Tribars for sale. Cost £349, some marks, so going for £150.
Also have HED 3C trispoke rear with Campag 10 casette which I would be prepared to let go for £275. Wheel alone cost £499.
sounds good to me John - I'm planning to get me a new road bike and convert ole faithful into a TT machine (of sorts). So - some dumb questions...
I take it these bars will fit my "ordinary" road bike?
Currently my bike has campag gears but it's a nine speed. Were I to buy this off you - do I have a problem Houston, or will this fit my bike too..?
Sorry if these q's are a pain but I'm ignorant in these matters.
Cheers - Snoop
PS - if the answers are +ve then I'll take 'em. Fear not folks - I'll pay Pearsons to fit 'em!
Hi Snoop,
The bars will fit your road bike provided the stem is the right diameter. If not, it means a simple change of stem. you will need bar end shifters as the brake levers come as part of the bars.
I think the cassette will be ok, but I am sure Guru Paul will be able to answer that one.
Whichever way you want to go, try them, let Pearsons sort them, and if you're happy, pay me your doubloons.
Snoop if you're talking about the wheels then 9 speed/10 speed campag is the same fitting so a 9 speed cassette will fit fine, just put your old one on for the time-being. I'll lend you the tools to change them (or even do it for you if you want). You can probably flog the old 10 speed cassette for a few quid as well (what sprockets/model is it John?).
As John says you will need bar-end shifters for the bars.
John, I'd quite like a peek at your xentis tri-bars when we're next out at the same race
Hi Rich,
The cassette is an 11 up, going in 1 tooth steps except for the last two or three, which are 2 tooth steps. ( I think )
I will count them tomorrow and post the exact data.
You're welcome to see the Xentis bars any time. They're fantastic, and weigh virtually nothing. Out next at the Redmon 10.
Cheers,
John
Hi Paul,
The cassette came fitted by HED with the Trispoke, as on their blurb they said wheels were for Shimano, but a special fitment and cassette for Campag could be supplied, so I bought the package.
Therefore I don't think the cassette is suitable for fitting to a different wheel, and thus may not be suitable for Snoop.
ps. Robert R-E is waiting in the wings for the wheel with cassette, but if Snoop pulls out do you want the Tribars?
John.
Hi John - sorry for delay in coming back on all this - new computer fever plus I've been in Leeds all day. I'm a bit confused....as per usual . It sounds like both these wondrous pieces of machinery would fit my bike. So does that mean I get 1st dibs...?
If someone beat me to it John then that's fine - I've been too slow on a for sale or two in the past so I'm used to it. If not - then pm me with your contact details and I will arrange to collect and then get Pearsons to fit me up (so to speak).
