Southern Counties Lunch & Prize Presentation

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Southern Counties Lunch & Prize Presentation

Postby Tamar » Tue Sep 04, 2007 2:45 pm

So, who's coming to the SCCU lunch???

It's on the first Sunday in November and it would be excellent if all the riders who've contributed to our total domination in the Rawson Shield (at least I am presuming we've got it, I can't imagine we haven't) are there to reap the rewards. What a photo opportunity!

I will find out about tickets - how much, who from etc - and let you know.

Oooo Tamar - don't tempt fate. I mean, we might all get a mystery virus and do a mass no show on Sunday. Yeah right - I'll have a ticket 8)

Cheers - Snoop

Not the first Sunday in November - bugger, will be away for Ruth's birthday

Have been a few times, and whole family went when Mark won the Junior BAR (nearly doubling attendance!!)

Have a great time and bring home the Rawson Shield.

Tamar, don't keep it in your house otherwise people might think the Bec won it

I will be perfectly happy taking home the Ladies Bar trophy thanks. Other contenders are more than welcome to take the Rawson.

Does anyone have a list (Jon?) of who's done the most races? Maybe it could rotate.

Personally I think Snoop should have it for his achievements.

Where is the venue for the lunch & how much is it?

When I get an idle moment I'll have a look and check who's ridden the most events. Can someone send me the 100 start sheet?

Jon - the start sheet came via snail mail. Starters for the 100 were Rob RE, Tamar, Rich V, Mike I and yours slowly. I think that was everyone daft enough to have a go, and sincere apologies if I missed anyone oot.

I can't believe I would come close in terms of the most events (I did the first 25, a 10 and the 100 with the last 25 to follow Sunday) but I reckon I've been the biggest pain in the a*se in terms of twisting peoples arms to get stuck in and have a go  , for which I do not apologise

Snoop, I nominate you for both the arm twisting and your heroic 100.

Will be interesting to see who's done the most rides though.

I second the nomination for Snoop just on the hundred alone. I don't think it can be emphasised enough to those who haven't done one how hard they are. And lets not forget that Snoop did it off the back of a two week family holiday with a just a bit of running.

Snoop I take my hat off to you 8)

I third the nomination for Lord Snoopington. Far to scared to think of doing a 100 and Snoop jumped straight from a 25 up to the ton.

Sporting 21 at Bletchingley (ex-CDCA event).
Robin Johnson's sporting 10 & 25 weekend.
25 on the Horsham course in April.
Linda's 50.
100.
25 this Sunday.
And a Sat a.m. 10 at Rusper at some point.

I think the SCCU road race also counts, but I'm not sure we had anyone in that.

And of course a special mention to the marshals without whom it would not be possible.

Mr Munnery and bloke in Badgerous t-shirt (Mike?) made lovely tea ladies.

Joyce, of course, and I seem to recall Eddie Munday beaming away at the 100.

Who else has given up their early mornings? Come on - own up and receive due gratitude.
