Where is it Huw? Looks a bit like the Stelvio pass, wiggly and climby.

The Dolomites are high on my list of places to ride (but somewhere a bit spikier than that picture - although I must admit it does look very nice :) )

Pictures of scenes like this are all well and good, but to be honest when you are there with sweat pouring down your face, breathing through your arse, legs feel like they are burning, feet going numb you actually start to think why the hell are you there. It is only later in the hotel that you get the chance to look out the window and enjoy the scenary.

Cheers

The edge might be taken off the descent if you had to dodge that lot on the way down.

that's why you should go there with a mountain bike... get a chairlift up with your bike, enjoy the scenery at the top, and then ride down

Gotta say i equally enjoyed the ascents in the Alps compared to the descents.

But then i guess unlike Paul im not so much a Pettachi sprinter, more of a... hmmm... Boonen sprinter. I.e im not scared of climbing, and quite like powering up little ones!

I was actually very nervous descending in the alps, descending blind [i.e not knowing the roads] scared the sh1t out of me.
