Richmond Park laps

Postby Will » Mon Sep 10, 2007 5:28 pm

If any of you competitive types live near Richmond Park, you could try to beat the gauntlet laid down by the Bike Radar lot.

Seems they've been timing themselves over 3 laps and putting up the results.

I seem to remember some Addiscombe rider once describing how he was passing through Richmond Park after a very long ride one day, and getting involved in a "lap challenge" with some people only to wipe the floor with them. Probably someone like George. :)

Tok's this is a great challenge posted by Mr Motivator himself :D

I wish I could have a crack at this one now! I remember earlier in the year I think I was averaging around just over 18 min laps.

It's nice and safe with no blind junctions/corners with oncoming cyclists

I heard somewhere that there might be the possibility of Marek, Tok's and Tim coming back to the Agreeable racing team for next year, now that really would make my day :D

[quote="Seanieh_The PengeAvenger©"]How can you get away with this and not pulled over for speeding?
Its really only on the descent that you occassionally need to watch out for the fuzz. Keep ya head up and there's no problem :D [quote="George"]I heard somewhere that there might be the possibility of Marek, Tok's and Tim coming back to the Agreeable racing team for next year, now that really would make my day

"No ring"? Is that another term for "no chain"?

[quote]Hincapie has a saying, when he's feeling really good: "No chain." The chain on the bike cranks the wheels and creates the tension that drives the bike.

Without a chain, a bike would spin nothing, air.

"Man, can you check something for me?" he says.

"What?"

"I don't feel a chain," he says. "Is there a chain on my bike?"

It's become Postal shorthand for riding strong: "No chain."

Armstrong says, "How good do you feel today, George?"

"No chain, no chain."

I also remember the bit in the book where Armstrong storms into the tour bus (having just done something really impressive - was it Luz Ardidens?) and shouts: "How do you like me now?"

I've sometimes been tempted to do that after battling with - and then triumphing over - racing commuters on the way in to work.

:D

 my Bad! you're right I meant - no chain!...ssshhh is Marco away from his computer? My best Armstrong quote is "how d'ya like dem apples". I said it to my girlfriend once after an intense game of scrabble which, most importantly, I won. Anyway she took it on the chin - and told me to fcuk off which I thought was awfully rude :D
