[quote="Sylv Choufflard"]You would want to see the Ft William xc course! Less technical (some tricky sections though) - but it was basically one long climb then down, no room for resting. 257m climbing per lap, six times over two hours for the Elite men, that is the same amount of climbing per hour as for the Cristalp winners!

I saw the highlights of the Worlds they had on BBC2 the other day (taped so only saw it last night) and that cross country course looked bloody hard. A lot of the men putting feet down or hobby horsing over rocks that they were slipping on. The rocky climb section looked pretty hard as well. From the run through they showed at the begining it seemed like a lot of climbing, and all the descending way twisty so no chance for a breather.

4 Cross - Looks bloody good fun!

Downhill - Again looks fun, but nutters. Super Scottish weather for this too.

Shame you didn't enjoy it Sylv. I suppose you're a bit buggered though if there are drop offs and you haven't got any suspension.

A few MTB events are started with a Le mans start including single speed races.

In this case it gives spectators and friends the chance to hide an "athletes" bike, possibly underneath a pile of other "athlete's" bikes!

There is a Le Mans start with 24 hour races to thin the field out a bit.
