Added to that Marco's ability to remember faces and names. I first went out with Addiscombe on one mtb ride about 5 years ago. Last year at the Presidents 10 not only did Marco remember my face and my name. He amazingly remembered what job I did.

[quote="kieran"]Sylv, when was this?....

Six years ago, yes it was on the road to Bromley, shop was recessed from the road, and owned by a guy called Vince. Always had cool stuff in it.

Dominic - spot on! Typical conversation with marco -

him "you remember xxxx from years ago, who had a goatee and always used to come out with us but never had spare tubes so we always rode ahead of him to avoid having to lend him one?"

me "err ... yes ... I think" (not)

There used to be a cycle show on Penge high road, top end opposite where Homebase is. As a kid I had a bike from there as my Dad knew the bloke who owned it. Sadly now closed as I think a few like this are under the onslaught(sp?) of Evans. They may get bums on bikes but I find they have very little knowledge, staff just like any other shop rather than bikies who know their stuff.

My introduction was through the website and Duffers. Was watching the Tour and heard the infamous (as heard on the website) Addiscombe reference.
