Andover Wheelers 10

Looking round schools this morning so unable to make it out to the President's 10. Managed to remember the closing date for the Andover 10 this year so it was off down to Andover for my last 10 of the year.

The course is on the A303 and is fast on a decent day with a superb run down from the start. Aim was a short 20.

On what was probably the only truly good day I've raced this year times were fast. Flew to the turn reaching 5 miles in well under 10 minutes. Checked a couple of times to make sure the chain was still there

Into a breeze on the way back but hit 9 miles in 17.45. Unfortunately made a horlicks of the last "hill" getting in the wrong gear and having to stand up and heave the bike over the top losing far too much time.

Ended up with 20.23 which I would have been happy with when I started but felt slightly disappointed.

Top ride Richard-a perfect day for a change.

Are you going to make me suffer in the two-up?

Excellent time, well done.

If you're only running a single chainring and don't want a front mech, isn't there something you can get that acts as a guide to stop it jumping off? I'd have thought there must be something in the TT market, or shall I design one and make my fortune :) .

Good ride Richard, even if you did get beaten by a girl.

Technically she was in a different event so she didn't beat me (or all but one of the men the next day as well)

Mind you she is going well, peaking for the world championships, and smashed the women's competition record so I'll live with it.

If only my chain had come off, I'd have an excuse

Looking forward to the Redmon Terry, I'll e-mail you about entries.
