Circuit of Kent

Did this event yesterday and I was very pleasantly suprised with an incredibly well organised and supported event. A must for next year.

Weather was good except for the wind on the return leg

Paul on a Pearson was there too and I spotted another couple of Aggreables. Paul was saying Marek posted a stonking time.

I limped in for 4h25mins on the longer route after overdoing it on the outward leg.

A great ride. Because of engineering works I had to ride to the event, luckily I managed to find my lights as it was pitch black when I left but was bright and sunny by the time I was out the other side of Bromley, but somewhere out near Dunton Green I rode into thick fog. The ride was turning into a bit of an adventure and I hadn't even got to the event yet.
Marek was there and suggested joining him and a few others in a little group as he was, to quote "up for it". This of course caused a certain amount off apprehension and selfdoult as to whether I would be equal to the challenge. We passed over the start mats, the transponders beeped and Marek was off. I lost contact with him in the congestion at the start, but all in all had a decent ride and managed to hitch up with a few tasty groups for a time of 4.40. I should have hammerd it a bit more and would have been hapier with a sub 4.30 time , but it was enough for silver so mustn't grumble. The best result of the day thougand aching legs it would have been a bit grim. Thanks again.
I think marek did it in 3.39 for the second fasted time of the day. Well done.

I left the house at about six, as I didnt know how long it would take to get there and as it was got there early.
The last bit of my earlier post doesnt make sense. It was meant to say something like "the best result of the day was Simon very kindly giving me a lift home". Thanks.
This really is a fantastic event, if youve never done a sportive before this is definately one to try. Theres a few hills but nothing to horrific, in fact the course is fairly flat except for One tree hill, which those darstardly organisers put right at the end.
