Addiscombe hillclimb

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

Looks like we have a few more takers which is great.

Stu - as a junior you have to ride on restricted gears. The minimum gear that you are allowed to use is 70". Checks will be made at the start to ensure your bike is technically compliant.

Finally!!

Good to see the usual suspects out...

Was out this afternoon in the rain, the climb itself is not to bad at the moment. Wet, yes, but the actual 'race' part of the climb is quite clean.

**At the moment**

I say this as this is what happened last year, then overnight on friday the heavens opened and the next morning the road was covered in sh1t. Expect the road leading to it from Westhumble station to be very wet too, if not flooded, it was today.

I will not be winning tomorow rest assured, even with a flying start I was a good few seconds slower than last year, but you never know!

But there you go, just get out there and give it all you've got. And don't fall off, Stu. Whats the story there anyway!?

Enjoy!

Sorry Jon, I would like to do this but I've already entered an adventure race thing in Central London so for the second year in a row I can't make it.

adam- during the summer (the wet season), sylv, george paul and i were charging up box hill. paul put in an attack on the last straight in the wooded section, and in a bid to catch him i took the last hairpin far to fast for the wet condition and my wheels slid out and i crashed

And apparently there was a classic conversation after this which went something like:

Stu: "I would have had you on that one Paul if I had not come off on the corner as you were slowing down"

Paul: "Stu I was slowing down because there was a corner, which is why I did not fall off".

Stu: "Oh yeah".

Cheers

Marek.....
