Anybody noctice that Mark Cavendish has equalled Pettachi's debut season by scoring his eleventh win of the season in the Circuit Franco Belge. Beating the likes of Gert Steegmans and Robbie McEwen, again. I've gotta say having met the guy now and seeing him win more and more I am gaining a lot of respect for him. Maybe he'll grow into the most successful British rider ever?

Damn right and major respect for the achievement - he may be called a sit in sprinter, just like Cippolini was, but remember that:

A. You have to be there at the finish
B. You need nerves of steel
C. At the finish, you then have to be the quickest to the line

Who'd have thought Paul would jump to the defence of the sit-in sprinters

Bloody hell the guy has won a phenominal 11 times and he's only "gaining" your respect. Adam you don't have to like him. But you've got to respect what he's done surely.

I listen to 'talksport' quite a lot. Its demographic is 30-40 something blokes and its interesting how many people cliam to have hated Ian Wright as a footballer but now having listened to him on the radio claim to respect for him. Perhaps part of our problem is expecting our sport stars to be likeable role models... I have massive respect for Armstrong but I don't think I'd like him. And thats cool with me. On the other hand I really llike D. Miller no matter how arrogant some think he is.

Fair point Toks, but all the stuff i said about him before was before I met him 8) So now that I have, i repsect him, and kind of like him. Ultimately he can ride for over 200kms and still win a sprint at 70kph, ti be honest i have respect for anyone who can ride that far that fast!
