Ian T - Committee Meeting

Postby mrP(Boonen)VT » Sat Oct 06, 2007 7:43 am

I apologise to those that do not know me, but my son, Ian was critically ill last week, in fact his heart stopped for approx 5 minutes, but fortunately he was in the Dr's surgery at the time as he had not been feeling well and with resucitation techniques and a defibrilator, he is here with us still to tell he tale.

Because of this, my wife and I have been staying at his bedside in Addenbrookes (Cambridge, thanks to Colin & Barbara Davies), and now he has been moved to Papworth in preparaton for cardiac surgery.

The reason for posting this message is that I have not been around, have not had access to my Committee files, have not issued a reminder, have no Agenda, will not be there and have lots to discuss.

Would any committee members object if this meeting was postponed to say next Monday? Could someone (Tamar if you're reading this) liaise with Joyce?

He is bing well cared for and monitored, and is in he right place should it recur, but for now he feels OK and is quite bright and cheerful.

The consultant said that had he been anywhere else at the time of his collapse, he wouldn't be with us now - SCARY - doesn't bear thinking about

Addenbrooks is a top hospital they have repaired me in the past.

My best wishes are with your son at the moment, looks like someone was looking after him from above.

Hope all is well with his operation Paul, and obviously wish him a speedy recovery from us all.

Do the docs have any idea what caused the problems?

Happy to change the date Paul of course, I wasn't sure if you'd be around for it. I've phoned and left a message for Joyce.

Glad things seems to be stable and I'll continue to keep everything crossed.

Hi Paul,

I'm very sorry to read about this.

Ian is very lucky to have had medical assistance immediately. Papworth is renowned for it's facilities in the cardiac unit, so Ian will get the best treatment.

Best Wishes to you and your family - be strong.

Will be keeping everything crossed and hope that the op goes well tomorrow. I feel shell-shocked by the news and can't begin to imagine what you, Ruth, Ian and rest of family are going through.

Best wishes for Ian's full and speedy recovery.

Paul, what shocking news, I hope all goes well with his operation and he makes a full recovery.

I kept reading your post over and over and thinking how increadibly lucky you were in the doctors at the time.

Best wishes from the Apples family
