ACC Members Only Hillingdon Race.

A Place to idle the day away talking about anything you fancy. Expect to find cycling and non cycling topics inside

Postby Toks » Tue Oct 09, 2007 11:46 am

[quote="Huw Williams"]Glad to say that once again Cycling Weekly will be sponsoring this momentous occasion with a glittering prize list (although rumours that Mark 'the ringer' Cavendish has been lined up as a 1-day ACC member to compete have proved groundless.)

So far they've donated:

3 Exclusive TdeF in London polo shirts

3 Haynes complete bicycle maintenance manuals (glossy hardback
books, v.nice)

loads of pairs of CW socks

Go Bars

Power bar protein plus bars

Winter training guides

Lots more kit/books/dvds etc to come...

Plus a load of undisclosed goodies which will be handed out as prime prizes or spot prizes given to riders who we think are deserving on the day (Last year Paul Tunnell cleaned up as the rider who got shelled out of every group on the track... twice! We felt sorry for him)

If anyone else has any prize donations please contact either myself or Toks

So come out and race or even just to shout the guys on and make it another great ACC day out
Great stuff Huw. Unfortunately I can't make any of the club run's coming up but I'll put a few flyers in GB's later on this week. Kieran are you a 3rd cat, I can't remember?

With Paul H out of the 2/3s the race look ever more intriuging, perhaps one might be pursuaded to race. I have an appointment with the physio the week before, i wonder what he'll say

Also, the 4ths looks like a good race, veryvery open, i cant see it staying together...

Yep a 6-man race should be something interesting!

If it's not too windy a breakaway might prove successful ...

[quote="AJC_Prima Donna Sprinter"]Also, the 4ths looks like a good race, veryvery open.

Is RichV racing in the 4ths too, I thought he'd thrown his hat in the ring?

Very open Adam...some very strong riders in there. May not have raced much or before but a few of those names are seriously strong at the moment.

If Cav did turn up it could end the sprinting back n' forth argument quite quickly :D .

Adam you had better be racing - otherwise there will be no end of hearing how well you would've done

How long are the laps and how many for a Novice?

There must be a monster ability gap between novice and Cat 4 and, as someone who could barely gasp a conversation with Alex while tapping out a brisk 22mph at the head of the 18s on the Saturday CR, I'm nervous of further embarrassment.
