Return of Super AJAY

I did three 4th Cat races last year at Hillingdon. My source of inspiration was Super Ajay. He cajouled, encouraged, sweet-talked and finally bullshitted me in to getting my lazy butt down to Hillingdon on a Tuesday night last summer. I must admit I really enjoyed it and wouldn`t have tried racing with out AJ`s prompting.

Anyway since about November last year the aforementioned Super One has been missing... Sat 23rd was his first club run this year... Well the boy looked pretty good on the journey down to Charlwood, but things were not quite the same on the way back... I thought Da Man would be taking it easy.!! No NO, not `our Aj`. The word came through on his ear peice - from that great mystical director sportif he's always conversing with - that it was time to begin `thru and off` .So myself, Super and 4 other 'agreeables' started to up the tempo. MMM... It all went quite well initially until we hit a few of the minor hills on route to S. Couldson. My mentor began to suffer and was, how d'ya say- 'off the back'. Alas AJ told us to go on ahead, so we did...Now I just wanna say, WELCOME BACK DUDE!!!! it was great to see ya. I KNOW YOU'RE 'ALL LOVED UP' BUT REMEMBER DESPITE WHAT SOME MINOR CELEB/5 TIME TOUR WINNER SAID, 'IT ACTUALLY IS ABOUT THE BIKE'. What d'ya reckon 3rd CAT by MAY???

I saw Ajay at the beginning of the ride and at the Cafe and he was looking pretty chirper. In fact he looks as though he has been in serious training, building up certain muscles, which for the un-informed may be misread as a beer gut.

But not our Ajay. From a reliable source I have heard that Ajay has been nurturing himself into building up his fat stores to assist him in the longer distance races.

I also think that after the amount of ribbing that Ajay took last year for drafting that he has been increasing his size to actually assist others drafting him.

So Ajay, look forward to seeing you on the front of the peleton at Hillingdon, your new physique will block out the wind for me to take a sprint finish. What a gentleman you are.

Yep, November I bought the full Assos kit to look the part, and I've just come back from holiday in Mauritius with a great cycling tan. The only thing I haven't been doing is riding my bike.

I went to Box Hill on a club run for 2, with fellow ACC member Ninder, on Sunday and asked her to marry me. Luckily for me she agreed. It was also an opportune moment for me to ask if I could borrow her Mavic Ksyriums wheels to take to Mallorca!

Toks and Marek, looking forward to teaching you a few tricks on the road this year! Ill be back...

Great to be back out on the bike, and looking forward to a great year with the Addiscombe
