i only recently found the digest and forum, and thats because I was injured, i think leave the digest and forum for now, just let them come and enjoy it, the last thing a beginner needs is to read about racing, gizmos, wheels and the like, it seems a bit daunting, like entering a new world.

Marco I agree, I think we need to run the j4f a bit more regularly, and try to encourage kids out as well, bearing in mind that road safety etc. is explained to them before they set off.

I believe that ACC committee is hoping to resolve the issue of juniors coming out with us soon. I have someone keen to join us and I'll bet there's more. We're a tip top bunch but we need to get certain things in place to cover juniors safely and properly.

Zzzzzzz I know but hey - it's a tough world out there! (what??)

dont dwindle over it as well please Snoop, dont wait until next spring or sumink, bcos kids at this time, are running out of things to do, bcos the days are getting shorter and colder.

i say bcos a lot, i just realised, its probably bcos...

i always feel i have to justify it, so an endless chain of bcoses begin

Maybe the images need to be a little less 'lycra'. Bridget certainly felt that the gap in time was too long between J4fun groups but she really appreciated the super friendly supervision and encouragement. If I were on my first ride I would find the A23 both directions a bit daunting, so maybe head out via happy valley, kingswood, etc.??

I agree. I have already aired the view that there should be a J4F group every week, and have agreed to go with this group each week. (My Coach has arranged for the Clubrun to be a recovery ride for me anyway when not racing).
BTW Alan, it was me who took the J4F group last week, aided by Amy on the way out.

The J4F are an excellent introduction to the club and cycling. Rather than every week, would every other week (or 1st and 3rd Saturday of each week) be a compromise as doing one every week puts a lot of pressure on John Cz, John L, and Tim. They may not want to drop below a 15s some weeks and they are allowed holidays, races (John L), etc so annoucing every week could cause the occaisional problem.

Cheers,

A.

We have adopted BC's Child/Vulnerable Adult's Protection Policy and all VC's should read it and comply with it.

I thought this had been done by el Capitane, but any that have been missed, I am posting the policy on a new thread.

The road is very busy and crossing it at the motorway start can be a bit unnerving
