Read the article now and it still doesn't answer my question of what accounts for such huge price differences in deep section carbon wheels.

Planet X not tested but cost £550 so could be similar (or even same as, but under a different branding) as the Control Tech £600 - they scored 8/10 and praised.

Easton - £1,250 = 6/10, broken spokes peeling stickers.

Zipp 404 - £1,250 (or £950 AC) = 9/10

Difference in tests between Zipps and Control Tech seem minimal, for all Zipps fancy talk of dimples (just because it works on a golf ball doesn't mean it works on a wheel). Okay 300g lighter but the speed test seemed to show no difference that any of us would notice if we were on the bike.

Judging from Adam's experience and what I've seen on other cracked rim issues with the Zipps, reliability doeasn't seem to cover the difference.

Not knocking any of the wheels, just can't understand why twice the price .

Huw, why where no handbuilt combo's tested?

I would like to know how handbuilt wheels compare scientifically compared to the fancy factory types.

Also, could a similar test be applied to frames?

Did Hutch fart while testing any of the wheels as that would need to be taken in to account for both wind assistance and air flow disturbance.
