MrPVT knows how to restrict your gears  . If he tries to restrict your gearing ask someone to weigh his bike.

I'm planning to take a set of calibrated scales and a lead-acid battery filled bidon to sort that issue out.

Hmmm...

I agree with you Andrew. How about this, I dont restrict my gears, and Paul's bike can weigh as little as it likes (d/w apparently he got dropped five times last year, maybe now he wont get dropped by the slower group?)

yeah, but you see, we will just remove you (by popular vote), if you decide to cheat, because of double standards (i.e you not allowing me to cheat, but you cheating yourself)

But your rule is a BC one, and the bike weight is a UCI one, so gear restrictions will apply, but unless I am much mistaken and Toks has registered this as a UCI ranked event...... 8)

the BC is a UCI registered body, so surely that counts for something

True enough, but the RACE isn't UCI registered. Check the rulebook - there is a difference.

i am too lazy to check the rulebook. come on Paul. Why is it, that I can use a full set on CRs but not races. Secondly, no one is going to tell BC are they!?

I do believe that all British Cycling sanctioned races are run by all the same regulations as the UCI, including the legal weight limit!?

But wouldn't a unicycle be underweight?
