I am in agreement with Huws plan, sounds fairer

Just as long as I don't have to restrict my gear

No more youths since Sam broke his arm. So I win!!!!!Yay!!!!

How can you tattoo into your forehead?

How does/will the handicap rule work then?

The handicap rule is that you get 6cm head start on everyone else - simple. 8)

[quote="huw williams"]As I'm not, this is how I see it, based not on BC categories but club run/training group performances

(A) race........................... (B) race
Marek.................................Paul On Pearson
Stu Merckx Man...................Ajay
Andrew green .....................Sean Rapha man
Sylv ..................................Mo Jaffer (J)
Chris Kay ...........................Kasper
Steve the Shadow ...............Grahame
Kieran ................................tom nobes
MrPVT .................................Jon Avery
Kevin...................................Michelle Le Brun (W)
RobC ...................................Phil L
Adrian
Keith
Brian N
Dom B
Dan Gee
Jonathan B
Toks
Hal
Conor (He's been training with a power meter I've heard)
AJC

5 laps neutralised at the start to give less experienced riders a 'settling in on the course' period and to stop some damn fool (probably Marek)attacking from the gun and having a load of riders going round on their own for an hour.

Paul T gets a five lap penalty in payment for his pathetic performance last season when he made the lap counters job impossible by getting repeatedly dropped from every group in the race.

Any shouting/spitting/hair-pulling or bullying down the back straight when you think your out of sight is to be greatly encouraged and spot prizes will be awarded accordingly.

All sounds good, only, why's my name on either list!?

I definately think the race should be split into A's and B's rather than by BC cat, lets face it, Marek v Toks v Stu isn't going to be fantastically interesting.

Re the track, normal way, or, if your going to change direction, use the finish line on the back straight. In fact, whichever way you ride, use the back straight finish line, what a final sprint that would be. This would also, allow more purposeful attacking on the normal finish ''hill''... just a thought?

I have it on good authority that the finish on the hill is actually safer. I presume we are going around the normal way which I believe is anti-clockwise.

Maybe we could have a couple of primes on the other finish to give the sprinters a chance to practice their speedy finishes. PVT what do you reckon, finish on the hill and primes on the straight? May be harder for the judges as will be running about a bit.

Cheers

Marek....

I presume we all start together and the groups are for just awarding the prizes?

[quote]You're not suggesting its rigged ... are you?

Only if Huw put himself in group B (he was only out with the 18s on Saturday!!!) - but since he is not listed I guess he's picked the easy, but very noble job of turning the lap counter cards over.

I'm just curious to how the race will be conducted. Even though I would probably get my @rsed seriously kicked - it would still like to see how I would fair against some of the regular/aspiring racers, i.e. how many times I will get lapped. Two years ago at Hillingdon I think I was lapped about 3 or 4 times out of 25 laps - so my challenge is to beat that.

BTW I think Robyn will be joining us so Michelle won't be the only lady.

Phil you set off the faster group first and then set the second group a little bit later. This means that the faster race has nearly a full lap to make up before you have to worry about them going through the other race. Normally by the time this happens the races have split up a bit so you don't have a big group trying to make it's way through the other one, potentially at a tricky part of a circuit.

It is also to prevent the slower cats just wheel sucking the fast cats. A strong 4th cat might be able to wheel suck an E/1/2 pack so they could tow themselves away from their race's competitors.

Marek - good idea, but I don't think it is practical for this race.

Mo- It doesn't matter what your handicap is as you win the youths race anyway QED

AJC - pedant mode

[quote]definately

Pedant off

Huw - aren't you riding?

Andrew - I believe the schedule according to Toks is for 2 separate races

- me too, only it was at Eastway as Huw delicately pointed out
