Yeay! Nice one Robyn, we will be the ones smelling of violets and roses bringing up the rear. Not looking forward to getting lapped 3 or 4 times though.

Don't we have anough time to set off and finish the races seperately so the 'category' of rider doesn't get mixed up? I found it very confusing at Hillingdon last time as I didn't know who I was sprinting against for the 10 lap finish ( the others were doing 50 mins + 5 laps) and hence got pipped at the post (the cow).

Let's face it until the last 5 laps, club races are pretty dire from a spectator point of view so I'm suggesting the A) race goes anti-clockwise and the B) race goes clockwise

That should provide a point of interest at least once on every lap.

I also think we should dispense with lap number cards this year. We'll start the race, nip off for a curry in Southall for a couple of hours and come back a bit later with a "5 laps to go" board OK?

Well don't watch then Huw, get your skinny backside on your bike and race  . Have the curry first and you might have the added incentive to get round quickly.

wish I was able mate - unfortunately while the doctors are still ladling filler into the grand canyon in my back I'm restricted to a miserly saddlle-bound 20mph :-(

If you're blowing your whistle again I'd be grateful if you can make sure, like last year, that I'm the only one who hears that there's a beer prime next lap :D .

And before any smart arses chip in with it, I know a miserly 20mph is faster than I normally go!!!

Ah yes the Beer whistle - I can do that - does anyone have any beer to give away though? - all the CW prizes are pretty boring, practical cycling things.

Mmmm beeeer, Oh yeah now we are talking, real prizes.

My other goal is to win an ACC mug this year to parade around the office. Its my last goal for the year (except for the decorating which is boring anyway)

Er just for the record I'm simply promoting the event and won't be racing. Huw will be making anonuncements and giving out prizes with Joyce. Paul will be the commissionaire and I'm also hoping some other ACC members (RichV?) will help out with registering racers, identifying preem winners and top 3 positions. Perhaps we'll even have a prize for the blingiest man in ACC kit and a most aggressive rider award. Hope to see some of you on the club run this Saturday - fingers crossed :D

Times have changed - we now have Polo shirts and plastic macs emblazoned with "Commissaire", no longer the "blazer brigade".
