Roller racing

Rollapaluza guys came to University of York today, so I rocked down there. Had a cold for a few days and my roadie buddies were doing 23-24 seconds for the 500m so wasn't expecting much... but inexplicably (my best '10' is 29.01) clocked 20.76, which put me best in York, second in the UK (universities) out of 12 unis

This being the first time I've ever raced a fixwheel, I'm thinking I'm on to something good. What roller races are there this winter? Thinking I might come down and give it a go. Or track racing...

There is a South London roller Racing League (or was - I have had a bit too much on my mind to organise it at the moment).

ACC have a set of rollers and we could have a roller night soon if anyone is interested????

The times depend on the rollers, but 20 secs for 500m is quite quick. On the Surrey Roads Rollers, I can do a 19, but on ACC only 24.

An ACC roller evening could be quite fun on a club night when we have the hall. Anyone could have a go and you wouldn't have to worry about being in a proper competition.
