Want to try Rollers?

Postby Andrew G » Fri Oct 19, 2007 5:21 pm

No silly comments about dodgy barnets  .

Following the thread in the racing section Paul raised the idea of pulling out the rollers at the club room on a Wednesday evening so people could have a go. Sounds a great idea to me to have a go with mates rather than have to lose your cherry in a competition.

Would you be interested in having a go? When would you prefer?

You should ride a fixed wheel bike but I think you can ride your road bike on them if you don't stop pedaling, I'm sure the Guru will correct me if I'm wrong.

The next committee meeting is on 12th November and if there is enough interest then we can look at it then and think about a date.

Cheers,

Andrew.

I voted for Jan, but you don't have a 'Yes, but don't care when' choice, so I would like to try out but don't care when!

If you don't care when then please vote for one or the other. Just vote for your "if I had to pick" choice, and add a comment to say you're fairly flexible.

This is just to get a taste of the interest, and if it happens it's unlikely to be too close to the festive period for obvious reasons. I also wanted to see if there was a strong favourite so we could look at a few date possibilities as the next committee meeting.

Thanks.

I saw Alex Dowsett at ToB demonstrating the art of rollering, on a normal bike, and he did freewheel once or twice. But I may be wrong

Thanks Mo, I'll pretend it was deliberate to see if you're really up the job of a pedant  .

Freewheeling on rollers is fine until the wheels stop turning. It's pedalling backwards on a fixed wheel that is the big no no.

No excuses Andrew, driving is a mugs game.

Now if you ridden back from the Isle of Wight that would be a different matter altogether. :P
