I'm not sure as to the validity of the protocols involved in this test but it seemed to make sense at the time (i.e. 10.30pm)

Great weather, great company and great scenary (for those like us in the touring group who went at sensible speeds to appreciate it) .

I would like to add my thanks to Huw for coming up with the idea.

ps Never believe a welshman when he says "It's all flat except for one small hill at Blackgang" I don't think some welshmen can count above one.

IOW

Postby Paul on the Pearson » Mon Oct 22, 2007 4:41 pm

What can I say that hasnt already been said. A big thanks to Huw for suggesting it in the first place. An absolute cracker of a weekend. Sun, sea and booze. Oh yeh and a bit of a bike ride thrown in as well. Andrew had obviously been misinformed when he'd apparrently been told the island's flat, rolling would be a more accurate description and even thats a bit of an understatement, but its terrain that makes for brilliant cycling. Fab. A definate for next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd have left him at GBs if he'd had them on.

It sounded like a real blast, i would have loved to have gone, but with just getting back from hols, and "double headers"- ibbo and rotfl we needed a bit of home time.
You were very lucky with the weather.
Great write ups as usual from a few of the forum scribes.

But no CR report!

Come on club runners lets have it.

Adrian knows full well that I am not to be confused with that fishy mob from the eastern end of the M27. I am not going to take the bait [geddit?].

More about my favourite brewery (and heaven knows, I've tested a few!) here...

[quote="mrP(Boonen)VT"]I do most sincerely apologise if the pace was quick at the start - I guess I just got carried away riding the IOW again as it was such great fun, and the views were great from the front

It just caught me out, I need 10 miles to get my legs going. I thought the tear up would wait until after lunch. To add to my list of excuses everyone was on their lightweight race bikes and I had my winter bike complete with rack so was lugging a bit around the island. :D

I was waiting to see if you'd bite Mike.

A few photos taken on my phone at the weekend.

Before the off, outside the Bugle, HQ for most of the Agreeables and purveyor of vast meals:

Regroup after the first climb out of Freshwater:

Same, seen from the other side:

A shoeless Brian, atop the climb above Blackgang Chine:

Regroup after the crazy zigzag in Ventnor:

Joy is unconfined as the five-man breakaway leaves the MrPVT Train stranded on the far shore:
