You just never know - maybe all the other tracks on there are along the lines of "My love is like a tyre-iron" by Ted Nugent from 1982's "Intensities in ten cities" album.

See, you wish you hadn't said anything now don't you :-)

They have a brilliant back catalogue of songs dont they Adrian.

The titles of the songs are just so inventive and to be in a band with girls in it seems to do funny things to your dress sense.

Not so inventive as "My love is like a tyre-iron" by Ted Nugent from 1982's "Intensities in ten cities" album.

Somebody once voted for that as "Best ever long song" on Radio 1

"My love is like a tyre-iron" by Ted Nugent please Tony" said the punter...

Silence from a radio (I believe they call it 'dead air' in the trade) has never been so deafning.
Sylv and Kieran,

Are you trying to make sure we all have as S*** a christmas as possible.
Your track choices are a little bit down beat to say the least.
I wanna hear something with abit of live in it.
God knows Xmas is hard enough without having to listen to some depressed songwriter moan about how sh1t his life is.

Ah but isn't winter the time for those long steady rides, a perfect time to listen to long slow songs?

Just plug those songs into your Ipod and go for a solo century, it will make you feel as you are gliding smoothly above the tarmac

Just make sure you skip the Leonard Cohen track as you might end up riding yourself into a bush!

By the way, is that Will Smith in kieran's vid? He better start jogging if he wants to be Pres'dent

Wow :-o if I'd thought along those lines I'd have stuck 'Ricochet' by Tangerine Dream on there

Yeah there's some nice tunes on there Huw. Doesn't that randomiser go on what other people are listening to so kinda cheating don't cha think?

Sylvain. LOL. I can see I'm gonna have my work cut out with you.
Next you'll be saying you really like the new Radiohead album!!!
Perfect for those long coastal rides off very short coastal paths!!!!
:D
Also there's nothing wrong with Leonard Cohen. Very hard done by singer him. Bird on a wire sounds like a perfect cyclo-cross tune to help those painful minutes just fly by!!!!

Carl, now you're talking!!!!!!! Don't forget to bring Timmy Mallett's Yellow Polka Dot Bikini to really get the party started!!!!!!!
 8) :x

My entry is in, and its a 2007 award winning piece, of which there can be no doubt is an original, and different song.

Not slow, not overly up beat, but in fact a great cycling song in my opinion.

The only good thing about the 1980's was Stu's and My births, get over it!!

Oh no, wait, Stu was 1990, so just my birth then

I'm over it already Adam, sounds like you however have a bit of a chip on your shoulder about it. I recommend some anger mangement classes unless you want to learn the hard way and be beaten well and truelly by someone born earlier than the eighties!!!

The seventies was the decade to be born in as everyone knows. Then you got to be a child of the eighties instead of a mere baby and everything brill would have just passed you by. Shame.

Oh well i suppose you've got all that great music from the early nineties to enjoy!! Bring back the Rave scene huh?
There is a slower version called "That was the day" that would fit in well with the slow song theme :D

It doesn't have that lovely intro though
