"The seventies was the decade to be born in as everyone knows."
Not so - being born in the seventies means you were too young to appreciate them
Being born in the 60s meant I got to see England win the world cup, the first moon landing, the end of psychadelia and prog, the golden age of rock, heavy metal, glam, disco and punk.
Consequenty in the '70s I got to see gigs by Yes, Genesis (pre-Phil Collins mercifully) AC/DC, Rush, Deep Purpple, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Sweet, Motorhead, The Who, The Stones, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Ramones, Talking Heads, Iggy and the Stooges, The New York Dolls, The Clash, Television, Pattie Smith, The Pistols, U2 and Joy Divison in their pomp (ie before the 80s had really started and long before embarassing reunion tours)
I pity any music lover born in the 90s who grew up on a staple diet of boy bands, Girl bands, manufacured TV-Reality show bands and watered-down, second time around brit-pop.
Carl: "Was that back in the 80's?, the days when a certain substance was doing the round" Na, that was actually in the early '90s, I think mainling heroin had become the trend by then
Kasper "Doesn't that randomiser go on what other people are listening to so kinda cheating don't cha think." No - I-tunes shuffle simply pics random tunes from your own personal music library.
Which brings me on to...
HOW BIG IS YOUR ITUNES LIBRARY?
Currently trying to get my entire cd collection loaded up, I'm just over one third of way through and it is currently 6589 songs - 19days, 3hours, 42minutes and 27seconds running time and 29.90GB of info
And that's before all the Weather Report albums which could double that
Hmmm, looks like I'm facing an 160G ipod investment
