Saturday Night meal out

A Place to idle the day away talking about anything you fancy. Expect to find cycling and non cycling topics inside

Ok looks like we have me and Keith, Huw, Fay, Aodan, Maria, Kasper and Snoop?

May be some more takers along the way.

Keith's vote was for the Tabaq which everyone was bigging up. You can't blame him, he is still searching for the perfect curry, not having found one in Birmingham or Manchester. Will it be seen in Croydon?

I like curry too, but I like ALL food, so I'm really not bothered as long as the meal is not £60 a head!

The other one that looks good to me is Kelong as we don't get much Singapre/Malaysian in Oxted.

Come on, lets have your vote.

And can you do it quickly? - I'll need to book it tomorrow to make sure we get in as its a saturday - Tabaq isn't expensive by the way and being that close to beer circus its ideal for a light apperatif :-)

Of course as today's Cycling Weekly features me modelling for an article on weight-loss, I shall only be ordering a green salad (no dressing) and mineral water

Here's a glorious factoid from the article

1998: standard sized scon weighed 48g giving 151 calories

2007: standard sized scon weighs 190g giving 600 calories

no wonder this country is on its copiously overweight knees - scones are to blame!

Michelle, Mirch Masala is pretty cheap, I mean you can eat well (family of 5) for 20-30 quid. But maybe thats why my bmi is low :?

Unfortunately Mo, Mirch as part of a large chain, more resembles an airport departure lounge - Tabaq gives you the 'personal' touch

And here's another gem

Apparently 10 minutes of window shopping burns approximately 35 calories

Where do they get this stuff?

Ahh, a sad dearth of replies since Wednesday.

The votes are as follows...

2 x curry ( keith and michelle)
1 x caspar's (Kaspar)
2 x floating votes for huw and amy
2 x floating votes for maria and aodan

Therefore curry it is? Unless anyone has any great objections, as I said before I eat anything.

Huw you want me to book this for Saturday, or are you happy to do it?

I'm for curry and Amy will gnaw on the leg of a chair as long as she gets a Naan with it...

Leave it to me - its right outside the office so I'll do it today

Is 8.30pm ok? - time to get back from Hillingdon, scrub up and a quick sharpner in the circus

I'll book a table for 8 people in case anyone else wants to come

My vote is for Tabaq - and no chair legs either. And anyway Huw always nicks my naan, having said he doesn't like them much.

Williams, you're in trouble :x
