My quote of the week came on Monday while riding with Stu,

Something along the lines of 'I'm F****d'

He was trying to climb White Down on something like a 44*17 (I think thats right)

He managed it though, however I did drop him

Mind you he then rode all of Box Hill out of the saddle, there were no questions over who was strongest

I've never seen anyone ride the whole way up Box out the saddle before, anyone else witnessed such a feat?

George did it (in a then club record time) after we completed the Hilly 50 earlier this year

And we'd already gone really hard round the 50 too.

Hang on - I thought Stu said he'd been riding steady with you earlier this week - he's lying like a rug on the floor

We were riding steady most of the time, we only averaged 18.5mph while putting the world to rights and ridng Noah style.

It was only White Down that pushed our HRs over 130, then a brief spell at 150 on Box (for me anyway) before a final push back to Coulsdon in which I was barely able to contribute to the pace without rocketing my HR up. But sitting 3inches of his wheel it was only 140 while bombing along at 25mph

My average HR was 146 for 3.5 hours, steady you see

I can't remember who else was there but I can definitely remember once Slyv went out of the saddle from the first hairpin. Not convinced about the real world benefits of standing up for so long but it beat me that day.

sylv- i remember you doing it for much of the way once when paul H attacked and we tried to chase him down....but i beat you in the end (in the saddle)
