Dammit Green! You can't volunteer me for the big-boys race and then sit on the sidelines laughing.

Oke doke, Carl. If you're running a bit late give us a bell on the moby - think you've got it from a previous PM.

Wee, that was fun - almost enough to make me consider getting a licence for the winter series (but not quite).

 I got the B race :D
And a B race prime 8) which I thought had burned my (limited stock of) matches.

Stu got the A race from Keith Knight with Adam a reasonably distant third   .

I've now got enough race DVDs to lend George to keep him on his turbo long enough to get to next years TdF.

Michelle was riding really well and looking like she was going to challenge for the final sprint when she got distracted by the trim bottoms of the A race coming by, looked across, caught a wheel and fell. Fortunately, she aimed well and made it to the grass before contacting the ground, didn't take enybody out, and the brief pause whilst everybody checkked if she was OK (she got pretty much straight back up) gave me enough time to catch my breath for the wind up to the sprint. At one point on the last lap I seriously thought we were in danger of unlapping ourselves (by 1 of 3 lappings) from the A race, but they stayed far enough ahead to not get in the way  .

Tell me about it Michelle
Welcome to the crash club, nice soft landing in the grass by the sound of it, did you enjoy it until then though?

Well done Graham on winning the sprint to take the Victory, it seems to go on forever before you cross the white line

Yes please Graham, looks like they do the trick with learning some race tactics.

Sorry George didn't mean to rub it in. Was thinking of you afterwards and realising how lightly I got off. I am pretty ok, minor whiplash type injury and some pretty bruises but in my younger days I used the get quite a lot of bruises playing contact sports, so am used to it. Glad yesterday didn't turn into a contact sport for everyone else!

The bike also seems to be ok - the handle bars did have a lot of grass in them, looked like I had been thinking the bike was a cow and trying to feed it! Oh there is a bit ground off the rear skewer, Keith tells me the bike is now lighter!!!!!!

But I LOVED it! I had a really brilliant time, obviously hard work but I felt strong enough to keep up with the pace.

There were a couple of little breaks and I took my queues from Ajay but there was one point when Ajay went of the front quite early on and I thought 'stuff this, I'm going' so did a little chase up the hill. Obviously came to nothing - he told me later his legs didn't have enough in it to set off on his own round the course. Still, all v. enjoyable and quite enough excitement for me for one day.

So even though I have relived the crash a number of times, most of all I am getting the fantastic memories of feeling good and really enjoying the racing, and feeling that things (podium places) were within my reach.

Never mind, no prizes for non finishers, better luck next year....or at least more experience!

Wierd isn't it, you can remember every minute detail so clearly as though it took ages to happen rather than a second.

Glad to hear it hasn't dampened any enthusiasm for the bike as that's always a concern when someone comes off. Everyone comes off at some point, normally just due to pure bad luck, you just have to keep your fingers crossed for nothing worse than a bit of road rash.

Do you have it insured? Even if you don't need it now it's worth every penny. I can recommend the CTC cover as it's very comprehensive and includes 90 days cover abroad.

link doesn't work with Mozilla for me so use IE if you have problems. Nice one for getting this arranged Slyv. Nice one to Toks, Joyce, Huw and Andrew for marshaling, arranging etc...

Cheers Paul for leading us there and back. I had over fifty mils on the clock without the racing!!
