There is a race on the Saturday in the car park of Sand Down Park which may be of interest.

It's an exhibition race put on by the run, bike & tri show to promote the Surrey League. Last year there were quite a few Elites (Brian Taylor, Justin Hoy, Paul Pickup) so the standard was high and the racing was fast.

This year it's an invitation only event, supposedly attracting the creme de la creme of the South West (god only knows why I was invited, maybe to make up numbers).

I'm looking forward getting my backside whipped by the 'big guns'!!
So if you're going to the show on Saturday, look out for the guy in the back of the ambulance hooked up to the ventilator... that'll be me :D

hmmmm, TT (whoever u are  ), methinks one may be having a high opinion of oneself - the whole of the ACC road racing contingent were also "invited"

Oh, I thought they were only inviting Cat. 1 and Elite riders.... my mistake.

So it looks like the standard of racing won't be as high as I though, oh well maybe I'll save myself for the Irish 5 day

The only way to become a champion is to think like a champion.... so having a 'high opinion of oneself' is only preparing me for what will eventually come.

Last minute team orders had me riding to Henley and back on Sunday testing out the new communication devices.

Apparently the new team bikes weren't quite ready so the 'grand unveiling' has been put off till this coming Saturday at the bike show.

TT

Marco, It doesn't matter whether you are a champion of your own mind, champion of the Surrey league or champion of the world.
If you think you can be the best, you've already overcome the first hurdle.

Yeah TT is right.

That explains why I have about 2 or 3 days a year of success when I suprise people and ride like a god.

The rest of the time I am just having too much damn fun and a laugh!!!

But I can out-bake any of you!!!!

Hey fantastic, I'm a champion!
Champion drinker of our office after three pints of Stella this lunchtime. The rest were fannying about drinking Carling.

P.S you have no idea how many times I had to backspace to correct my spelling during this post.

TT,

Are you allowed to announce who you are riding for this year? It sounds like a great opportunity for you to be a part of a really big team.

And I notice in an earlier post you mentioned doing a 5 day in Ireland. Fantastic! Will you be participating in any other international races?

I will follow your progress with interest. I take a great joy in watching the talent developed by the Addiscombe flourish on the international stage.

Best of luck for the season ahead.

Vampire slayer,
Until I renew my licence and become a second claim member, my identity and team has to be kept under wraps.......sorry.
Thanks for the kind words though.

Ooh! A mystery team!! Is it a new team or someone who we may have heard of before?

Make sure that you tell us agreeables the news as soon as you are able to release the details to the press.

Good luck at the race on Saturday. Will you be racing in Addiscombe CC colours or plain colours? I will give you a shout during the race.

Any other club members at Sandown?
