Hey Mo big respect for saturday - well done for hanging in there. But bro you've been ominously quiet. So whats up? whether good or bad the people wanna know? has it given you an appetite for racing or has it put you right off :)

i've got the appetite I think. I mean its good fun, but could be better if people didnt sabotage your bike

the problem is I am too lazy. I mean I only got on my bike two to three times during that week prior, and I rarely train. I guess thats my goal then

It'll probably change once I have a clear set of aims and goals, which racing will probably give me.

Mo if you want to try some racing next year you could give Palace a go. The bike sabotage although seeming unfair is actually to help you. While your body is still growing it would be bad to race with bigger gears and possible over strain your muscles.

It won't be an issue, or indeed an excuse for you  , if you do want to try some racing as everyone in your age category will have the same gear restrictions.

As a Youth rider, you shouldn't be churning along in huge gears - you need to develop muscle strength and then use them.

Tony Doyle once did a 56 minute 25 mile time trial on a 72" gear - that is the equivalent of the small chainring and the 3rd sprocket at the back, and he averaged 27mph.

Furthermore, ALL youth riders are restricted in the same way so you will then be able to compare yourself with others of the same standard.

It is not me being awkward.

I know. It will be fairer when everyone is in the same situation.

Spinning gives you cramp just so you know. Scientifically proven by Doc Jaffer

No, your lazy ass gives you cramp Mo!

Stu and I were riding yesterday afternoon, and for the most part he was in his 42 (idiot  ) and I was in my 39. The pair of us were spinning along quite happily for 3.5 hours averaging a little under 19mph. Marco is right, you need to learn to spin.

So stop being a doctor of whining and start being a 'spin doctor'

Haha, see what I did there

I thought you were gonna say "stop being a doctor of whining and start being a doctor of spinning" But I've just realised it doesn't work that well. ...oh well back to work :(

It definately increases your chances of cramp.

I'm starting to spin more anyway, especially after a trip to the Trussochs.

So I am not bothered about restricted gears, as long as everyone is on a level playing field

You probably do need to learn to spin, maybe thats one you could teach me

it was nice, except there is no such thing as a flat there. Also on the way there `(to wherever your going) it seems uphill, and on the way back it is also uphill (same route) :? [/i][/list]
