Yeah go ahead and book it Paul. If the costs are low I'm happy to be involved again as long as Mr Williams and Mr Green are there too :D

Good by me as long as it doesn;t clash with any regional race stuff which might draw riders away - although judging by last saturday the ACC event is more likely to be a bigger event than a Surrey League stage race in a couple of years :-)

I didn't have anything in my diary. The 6th is likely to be TOB again so avoided that.

those practice races marek organsised last year were great fun, and a real good intro into racing.

and dont worry if you think you will be dropped, we handicapped them. so you get to ride with people of your own ability.

i would love to do more of these over the winter again. there good training too!

The deed is done - 20 September 2008 10:00am - 1:00pm

OK?

I reckon a clubrun meeting at 9:00am would get there by 10:00am, and that gives us 3 hours.

sweet - now we've got something to aim for.

What's that noise outside? Ah yes, it's the sound of Adam increasing his cadence as he begins training for it already :-)

In general Stu I don't think anyone minds being dropped occassionally but when you're trying to attract novice riders they can get quickly put off or disheartened if they're struggling to keep up. One person last year admitted it ruined his saturday completely when some 19's didn't wait for him and hasn't been back to the club since.

Thats why its better initially I think to keep novices together. There are of course those naturally competitive
types who will put up with continually be dropped initially but mate you don't get too many of them in a season

The most appropriate circuit is, of course, the one used on the final day of the Surrey League Revolutions. It incorporates a few laps of the Ladies Mile circuit plus a few, other nearby drags too.... IMHO it is absolutely ideal for the club championships. Plus it is very picturesque and ideal for spectators.

I agree Tony, but somehow think that lightweight chaps like us might be muscled out of the decision :-)

That is also my main point of using a short and flattish circuit.

I appreciate that it is not to the A racers liking, but can you imagine the B race being blown apart on Norwood Hill and struggling for 12 miles to get back to the finish in ones and twos :?:

"Imagine the B race being blown apart on Norwood Hill and struggling for 12 miles to get back to the finish in ones and twos"

:-) Yeah I can see that - let's do it on the old Surrey League course which finishes up Tanhurst Lane then?

Sorry, of course you're right Paul

I know it well, when I was a lad (Junior anyway) another Junior riding that day tore away up the hill on the first lap to mutterings of "silly sod" and "he'll learn" etc :D :D

Unfortunately we never saw him again until we got to the finish where he had showered changed, and watched us struggle in.

He was a very unknown (then) Sean Yates 8)
