this old topic again!!!! :D

ok, firstly, shaving isnt to make you go faster, and if you shave the night or morning before the race, due to your body regrowing the hair, it wont affect your performance(these are things i keep stumbling on across the web)

i, and most others remove hair from the ankles right up the leg..including thigh, just not the man area....ajay for example only does ankle to knee...so i guess its up to you.

then some, like old gilberto simioni remove also the forearm hair.im sure its all for the same reason.

if you come of you bike and cut yourself at high speeds, its going to be a huge gaze.with no hair there, less dirt is held, therefore its more hygienic on the cut.

when you plaster up your wound, and then go to remove plaster, its pain free because the plaster hasnt stuck to the leg hair.

when you sweat, all the sweat isnt held by the hair and gathering..once again more hygienic.

im sure theres more that will get posted up..but on the less serious side

when you got nice defined legs, and turn up on a sunny day with them nicely waxed up with vaseline or whatever, you look good, and last of all

cycling with hairy legs, its like being a fatty playing football, your just not serious about what you do!

wax first time, shave for the rest as you dont wanna have to leave them to grow long enough to be able to wax them again.

i grew my leg hair over winter, kept me warmer...guess the times coming again to start smoothing them over!

"ajay for example only does ankle to knee"...and that's on a good day! the poor lad has been known to miss a few places, hence the nickname 'tufty'!!

Yeah, sorry to bring this subject up, but I get a bit of chaffing between the meat and two veg and the rusty bullet hole, AND, one of the other forums suggested waxing or shaving.

So,

I thought I'd ask the experts of the ACC what they do and why.

The legs thing, I always thought was for posing. Hygeine's a good one though ;-)

David, the main man, on cycling viagra! Hey glad to see that you are still awake. Total respect to the cycling monster of Mallorca. I noticed that you jumped into the 'shaved legs' camp this year with both legs and it seems to be working for you. I shaved my legs in Mallorca this year, early February, just to reinvigorate my body and remind me that there are some races to be ridden this year. Dam it, got to get with 3rd cats this year. I still only go upto just above my knee, and that works fine for me.

FYI we also have and existing 10 page long thread on leg shaving and all its cultural, social and personal dimensions.

Assos do a cream for saddle sore.
You can put it either on your chamois or directly on the skin.

Summer's coming on and dare I say so are the sores.... ouch

nothing like a shorn scrotum to drive a woman wild in bed.....
also keeps away saddle sores and keeps thngs easy to clean after a hard session on the bike.
shaved legs, if you go all the way to the top it looks neater...
sugaring is an alternative.. abit like waxing only different.

if you go as far as shaving your arms... well, thats just daft. :)

crack, back and sack wax is probably the answer to itchy regrowth.
