How about a new version club run. Start eveyone off in the training group and then see how long you can hang on. Before long groups will form naturally of dishevelled riders wimpering along at their own pace, when George gets back that will probably be at about 10mph after he has blown everyone up by riding at 400 watts.

Cheers

Blimey, fellas, didn't realise the CR was a Sacred Cow! Should have know better.

I'm not complaining and frankly don't really give a toss. Ultimately the only thing that matters is that an agreeable time is had by all. :D

Have fun

Jon

PS but still think some riders lack the balls to move up to a faster group!

I agree but on the other hand I also think that it is a gradual process that is working slowly hence the increased numbers that are now going out on the 18mph group.

I think they key is good stewardship and discipline, then people feel comfortable in moving up. I know the speed creeps up (which I believe is good as it stretches people) but I always try to keep an eye on the group, especially at the back, to see how they are coping and slow it down if necessary if people are struggling.

I like to hope that if I take out a group they get a good safe ride that pushes them but doesn't kill them but please tell me at the time if you have a problem.
