Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

[quote="Toks"][quote="Grahame"]Well, maybe. If I can pluck up the courage/get a pass/compromise my stance on not giving money to the stuffed shirts at BCF and buy a licence.
Stop with this plucking up courage nonsense. I thought you've raced already loads of times
Only on the mountainbike. My road/circuit race career is short:
Junior - entered 1 race. Packed after crashing hard at the bottom of a descent and ripping my kneee apart.
1990 - entered 1 race (in the USA, under a pseudonym, filling in for a rider who had broken his collarbone in a crash 3 days before the race). Won.
2005 - entered the Addiscombe "B" race at Hillingdon. Packed with cramp and a big dose of " the Feckits".
2007 - entered the Addiscombe "B" race at Hillingdon. Won after remembering that the only time it matters whether you are on the front or not is when you cross the line.
So my career record reads packed, won, packed, won.
