[quote]Congrats Wal!

Thanks Sylv! I'm loving fatherhood, but the cycling has had to take a back seat for the time being.

I haven't weighed the complete Scott on an accurate scale but I did weigh the individual bits as I was putting it together. I've calculated the total at around 9.9kg with decent tyres on. I plan to get it down to around 9.6-9.7kg by spring without going crazy on rouble outlay or sacrificing strength/durability, but that's about as far as I'll go; the law of diminishing returns well and truly kicks in after that. Even so, I think I've been spending too much time on Weightweenies...

I'm using the Eclipse tubelesskit (which I think is the same as the DT Swiss kit), which works great with the right tyres and mounting technique. I've not used Stan's so not sure how it compares in terms of ease of setting up, but with the Eclipse I can easily inflate the tyres with an ordinary track pump.

Your Ibis is already a droolworthy race bike - what sort of build do you have in mind?

It's almost done! I'm just waiting for the wheels and Shadow rear mech now. If it's not too muddy I hope to use it at the Herne Hill cross on 1st Dec.

I wanted some modern, stiff forks but even at 80mm I think they would mess up the frame geometry, so I've put some (new) Sids from '98 with a disc mount.

Groupset is all new XTR, with disc at the front and (old) v-brake at the rear (no disc mount).

Wheels are Stans ZTR rims by JRA.com, with XTR hubs and Schwalbe tires.

Nothing silly-light and weight includes bar-ends, cage and computer :)
