The 8 people I saw commuting home this evening who were riding in central London in the rush hour without any lights on their bike, or themselves. In fairness one of them did have one rear light - it was tiny and flashing so dimly it must have been powered by an asthmatic ant on a treadmill.

Yes Paul, they were all jumping lights and edging over large junctions.

Me:
Front - A large one. Also one of those small flashing LED backupz.
Rear - A veritable Christmas tree.
A 5 LED flashing strip on the back of the rack
One of those excellent cateye LED clusters (2 rows of LEDs) on the seatpost on static
Bar end LEDs set on flashing.
:D

Roll on the proper cold weather when all these fakengers and fakalists get back on the tube or bus or wherever they came from.

They really pi55 me off and make all car / bus/ lorry / cab drivers and peds think all cyclists are the same .

Therefore causing more dislike of all cyclist and potentially putting MY safety at risk.

I'd like to see the Police do something about it.

My suggestion would be to CONFISCATE the bikes of anyone breaking the law

No lights

Postby Paul on the Pearson » Thu Nov 15, 2007 9:23 pm

No lights. Thats just asking for trouble.
When I comute home at night I'm lit up up like a christmas tree, I look like an extra from Quadraphnia.
The other morning as I was waiting patiently for the lights to change at a busy junction a lady with child seat with a child in it sailed through the red light across Kings rtoad.
Madness.....

Funniest dumbass cycling I've witnessed was as I slowed down for red lights at ped crossing. Stupid cyclist in front of me kept going despite the man obviously running along pavement intent on getting to crossing whilst green man was still showing. He ran out onto the crossing, she slammed brakes on and went over handlebars, landing in an undignified heap at his feet. Hahaha. He stopped to see if she was alright (?!), lights went green for me and I sailed over the crossing laughing my ass off and pointing out that it's stupid bitches like her who give nice cyclists like me a bad name.

The silliest thing I saw this week was the cyclist on Tooting Common yesterday morning with no gloves  . He may have been acclimatising ahead of the swimming champs, but his hands were so numb there was no way he could operate his brakes.

He wasn't there this morning, presumably because he was hacking off his frost-bitten fingers with a multi-tool.
