Some pics from muddy (and cold) Leith Hill yesterday

Postby rollerskate skinny (sylv) » Mon Mar 01, 2004 2:33 pm

Rory, Simon and I went for a mountain bike ride yesterday, we rode from Croydon to Leith Hill via Box Hill, it was pretty cold (Rory didn't mind, he only had short socks, thin gloves and a thin upper layer of clothing), it even snowed for a bit, and while riding back home we got caught in a hailstorm - which only lasted for minutes fortunately.
We also rode through the muddiest, gloopiest field of mud I've ever seen.
But the spring is not so far away ... the birds were out.

I don't think we'll return to that field until well into the summer.
That mud was a real bike wrecker.

That sparrow looks stuffed! Are you sure these are genuine pics?

Well it did involve cunningly dropping bread crumbs on the tire (that was our lunch break), only after the first time he spontaneously landed on it I tried to grab the camera but didn't quite make it in time ;-)

Maybe I shouldn't have revealed the trick!
