just wanted some personal advice seen as your the expert..ive been of the bike for about two weeks now due to operations in the mouth, and the fact that i was being told i look like ive just finished my season, not about to start! anyway, i feel so good, im all relaxed, feel really healthy again, and smiling!

im going to start training again this saturday, is it possible to get fit enough for the 3 day over easter.i dont expect to be winning, but at least finish top half of the field, or for this standard would i have to push myself to hard>?

I reckon you will be alright. I am hoping to enter this one as well Rob. Can you enter on the line or is it better to get in early, probably a popular race being one of the only stage races of the calendar. We should get a few guys together and work as a team, I think in a stage race you are more likely to do better with a few guys working for each other due to the amount you have to do over the three days.

I doubt being off the bike for that period of time is going to make too much difference, you may find that you are feeling stronger due to the rest. Go for it.

Did you not do any turbo work while you were recovering?

Better late than never I guess, it just means you'll peak later in the season. You should be looking at going well in the 5 day and even the Isle of Wight. A lot of the riders that are flying now will tend to drop off come August, giving you a great opportunity to win some races.

It's not going to do you any harm racing the 3 day cause you'll benefit from the experience, plus you can support Dave K. He's going really well at the moment and will need some back-up. I'll be sitting pretty in the bunch and monitoring your progress.

You could use some of the shorter races that are on now to push you along and give you something to gauge against. You won't want the 3 day to be your first race.

im pre entering the sigma 3 day, but the alfold ill enter on the day, you doing alfold aswell arent you

rob, having wisdom teeth out is a sinch... you could have been back on the bike after a week.
anyway, easter 3 day... get back on the bike, speak to brett.
there's no reason why you shouldnt do well as long as you do the right kind of training for you... that means not necesarily the same as someone else...

you need to pick up you leg speed, work on raising your cadence to 100+ and being completely comfortable with it. work on smooth transitions on the hills, so sitting to standing should be more of a launch and not a stall. get some good distance rides in with brett or the others.

eat plenty of good quality food, make sure you have at least one full rest day each week while you train. ( the time you get stronger is during your rest time, not during the time you excersise)

oh and remember, have fun!

Eat, sleep, train and race with it on, it should never leave your chest/wrist.

If you're looking for a ride tonight Rob, come out and do some hills with me. What better way to get you under way than by doing 3 hours of climbing!
