Early Season Sporting TTs

Are you thinking about starting racing? Ask about future events in here, find out what you can expect at them and who else is going so you can scrounge a lift off someone rather than riding the 30 miles to get there yourself!

For Carl, Tony, and any others who may be interested, I've just had a look at the provisional list from the CTT website and the early season G course (London South district) Sporting TTs are:

Sat Feb 2nd - 18km - 2pm - Storrington
Sun 3rd Feb - 34km - 10am - same area I think
Sat 9th Feb - 14.8 miles - 2pm start - Faygate
Sun 10th Feb - 14 miles - 8.30am start - Ripley/W Horsley
Sat 16th Feb - 17.48 miles (bit precise) - 2pm start - Steyning
Sun 24th Feb - 18 miles - 9am start - N Holmwood/Dorking
Sun 2nd Mar - 23 miles - 8.30am start - Staplefield/Handcross
Sun 9th Mar - 29.9 miles - 8am start - Dawes Green, Nr Dorking
Sun 16 Mar - 21 miles - 9am start - SCCU event - Bletchingley (2 laps) or 11 miles (1 lap)
Mon 24th Mar - 25 miles - 7.30am - Patcham/Devil's Dyke
Sat 5th Apr - 10 miles - 2pm start - SCCU event - Oakwoodhill
Sun 6th Apr - 25 miles - 9am start - SCCU event - Loxwood

These are only provisional at the moment, need to wait for handbook to be confirmed, but plenty to choose from if you're interested.

Pardon my ignorance, but what's a sporting TT (as opposed to a regular TT)?

Sporting TTs generally take place on non-main roads, are usually lumpier and are often based on cricuits rather than an out and back course.

Frequently they will be run over circuits which are used for Road Races.
