well its that time of year to pick out a christmas present for st nick to buy me. (or barbushka if your russian)(i think)

as you can probably tell from the title im after a new pair of cycling shoes. not a winter pair or anything like that, but for racing and the summer. around the £70-80 mark. all advice welcome.

Difficult one to give advice on as you could just go for something that looks cool but the fit may be completely wrong. I would go into the shop and try on a few pairs and see what feels best. Take advice, so go to a decent shop. I did not realise how important fit for the shoes was until I bought a pair that were slightly too big. The pain of a pair of cycling shoes that are slightly too big is intense, so I would just go for a good fit and something in either blinging white or silver.

Yeah depends on the shape of your feet. Some are way too narrow at the front for me. Specialized get my vote if they fit you. Very comfy, light (with the carbon sole), and the body geometry insoles are very good.

andrew- i have specialized at the moment and they have been great, i may stick with the make but upgrade the model.

I'm with Sylv on this one, you can't beat a nice pair of sidis especially in white and for those chillier days how about a nice pair of white sidi over socks? and while your at it dont forget to assesorize with some matching white bar tape to complete the look!
Sidis are quite a narrow fit. If you've got feet like a pair of bloated old kippers they may be a bit tight so try something like northwaves.

i got sidis too this summer from brixton cycles, ended up paying out more than planned but as a regular they gave me a big discount on a good pair of shoes. Very comfy and I've wide feet so surprised, much more snug than my old shimano ones.

Bear in mind that Sidi's are very narrow shoes, so if you have broad feet, then they can be very uncomfortable, unless you get a size that's too big...and that has it's own set of problems: wide enough, but too long.

Anyway, you'll notice a lot of pro's wear these Shimano Shoes
