[quote="huw williams"]Graeme - very promising, the weight loss would give an extra dimension to the pics in the traditional before and after sense
but given your prowess on flat courses and ability as a sprinter already (plus the prestigious title of club champion already in the bag) would you be prepared to go the extra distance and target a big hilly sportive as well as some open road races?
Success of course could entail greater weight loss than the modest 10kg you're aiming for
Now that WOULD be a story of some inspiration
I'm sure I could fake being poor on flat courses (report of a struggle to hold on at a Hillingdon race, perhaps?). Nobody outside the club knows about the club championships win without honour
This is journalism, the truth is optional isn't it?
I'd be happy to target a big, hilly sportive later in the summer - what's the date on that dusty one in Italy? It would make a good comparison with me struggling round the HONC in April. If I got to 3rd Cat, I'd also be prepared to tackle a couple of open road races.
The weight loss target of 10kg is one I thought I'd find challenging but possible. I'd defer to the coach's view - if they thought more was achievable, then we'd target more.
