Anyone like it Ruff?

Postby Andrew G » Sat Dec 01, 2007 5:14 pm

Anyone, with MTB or CX bike, interested in this for something a bit different next Sunday? (Weather permitting as I wouldn't do it if it was raining, too much cleaning to do afterwards :) .

Sounds great Marco, thanks for sorting out the times, I still have no idea how far it takes to get somewhere on a MTB  .

I'll meet you in Addington.

I'd love to do this, but can't really commit.

How much of a disadvantage would an MTB be, compared to a CX bike?

This sounds like a fun event for this time of year. I sorted out my cross bike and located my camelback last night, so if the weather isn't too horrendous I'll see you chaps there.

Having got drenched today, and as the ground will probably be fairly boggy, I'm going to be a DNS on this one. Shame as it looked good but I'm not that masochistic.

Conditions were reported as "nasty".
Did any aggreables venture out?

I was still trying to fit wetter weather tyres to my single speed an hour ago.

Ruff Stuff

Did anyone turn up for this? Didn't see anyone in ACC kit - being fairly new to ACC I'm not likely to recognise you if you were there.
Weather was awful but not too severe! 40 riders or so turned up. Lots of churning thro mud and puddles and wet leaves. More fun in summer I think. I feel rather pleased with myself for going out off-road on such a horrible day.
And they had a bike wash there and hot showers. Not much in the way of hot food tho. Small mug of soup and a roll.
