Got dropped at the rise just before the LH turn to the cafe.
I still haven't got the hang of holding back at that point!
Somehow I ended up at the front quickly followed by being spat out the back again as soon as the road sloped up.

Thanks "Shadow" who held back and a few of us took the turn to the cafe and kept on riding with a quick loo stop at the cafe.

Also the change to a 12-25 meant a much smoother ride with the group.
Thanks for the advice.

yes scars. The chamois pad in me shorts got soaked through and chafed/broke the skin around where the edge of the pad meets shorts. Decency prevents me posting a pic

Went out today with the EG CC, all three of us were mudguarded up and well protected. They don't get the 90 odd riders for their club runs, especially when it is raining.

Got in a great ride though, after not being on the bike for 2 weeks it felt good to get out again. My legs are really sore this evening though. Went with Steve Dennis, the awesome TTer. It is good fun going out with these guys as they know all the roads around the Ashdown Forest etc so get to see loads of places I did not know existed.

Steve aint slow on the hills either so good training as well. I left them at about 60km and headed home. I then blew up on my way towards Forest Row. Had to scrounge a biscuit off another roadie whose name was William and was 15 years old. He saved an old man, as I nearly got off and walked.

Cheers

Marek....

And some nappy cream...

Was it the weather making it extra welcome, or was the chocolate cake in the caff particularly good?

I thought I told the poor lad not to talk to stangers! lol

Was out with the TSN guys this morning, having been up all night doing the night shift on reception (been on since friday night, plus yesterday and on now too, no sleep but loadsa money! c'est la vie!) Was a funny day of heavy showers but none the less a great ride. One of the first times I have found myself not caring about the rain. Though I think the cooked breakfast and two cappucinos before I left work helped that one out!

Still, at least I can do 4 hours in the sunshine tomorow afternoon ay, jealous!? Be solo though as young Stuart has succombed to the winter at last, bless!

Well Ive had a quick look at the forecast for this sat coming and so far so good, fair bit of sun, light winds but feeling cold...but the main thing is it looks like its going to be dry...so they're saying, plenty of time to change they're minds yet...never trust a man who works for the met office.

What a day, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed cycling in the rain. Reminded me of the summers at home in Ireland!. Got to Coulsden South really late, no one in sight, started to feel cold, so thought must try and keep the pace up to stay warm. Failed to catch Montys group, but made it to the cafe. Rode home with Toby who had a spectacular crash when he hit the kerb and smacked into a metal railing at some speed. He decided to continue on in pain sounded like he might have broken his finger. Hope you made it home ok Toby :!:

As I got in the door at home heard a loud hissing sound only to see the largest piece of glass I have ever seen in my tyre. Ah well, it got me home and might get a few more miles out of it with a little super glue.
Roll on next week!

Ouch Toby hope you are ok

I had seen the forcast and wasn't feeling very well after more than my recomended alchol consumption on firday night at an office party. So I ended getting up too late for the club run and decided to put on all my waterproofs and meet my mates in a cafe in Caterham (its much closer than charlwood  ).

After a full english I went up onto the downs for a short detour before heading back home round past fannys tea shop. A pleasent little ride if a bit wet and cold.
