I could have told you these were rubbish overshoes.
I've had a pair for a year and although they look nice, the zips break and the stitching comes undone easily and the velcro tabs at the top pull off.

And, did I mention they don't keep your feel warm either since they are thinner than other overshoes.

Sorry to mention this when you're trying to sell them, but they are bad.
Why not sell them on ebay?
You wouldn't want another agreeable having such a horrible experience , would you?

Well, I bought them a year ago on the strength of a review in CP.....

All I'll say is that the CP review was pants. :D

I've spoken to several other people who've bought them and they've all reported the experience I've had.

Planet x neoprene overshoes for every cold, wet, horrible ride, they are the best they are the warmest and the most durable and I'm sure everyone else will back me up on this one

[quote="Seanieh_Has10TktsWant1?©"]Colin, what would you recommend?

Well, forget about trying to get waterproof overshoes.
At the end of the day, if it's raining hard, you're feet are going to get wet.
I bought a pair of totally waterproof Adidas overshoes a few weeks ago.
They are thin, so don't keep your feet warm, but they are waterproof.
However in really heavy rain, the rain runs down your legs and into to top of the overshoes and into your shoes.

What I would recommend is just some bog standard neoprene overshoes and some of those Seal Skinz Waterproof Socks . I bought some for a mate the other day and he said they are fantastic...keep your feet absolutely dry and warm.

Don't think you can get fully waterproof Sean as water will make its way in somewhere. You just need to keep your feet warm.

To delay the ingress you could try:
Insulating / duck tape over the air holes in soles of your shoes.
"Waterproof" overshoes.
Put your bibtights over your shoes. Looks a bit odd but the rain goes down the leg and over the shoe rather than collecting and seeping in through the top of the overshoe.
For warmth 2 pair of thin socks (wool or cotton, but natural fibre) work better than one pair on biguns as they trap the warmth better even when wet.

The old "supermarket plastic bags under shoes" trick works well too ...

You can't go far wrong with the standard planet x neoprene ones. Officially not waterproof in a downpour but good for most UK weather because they keep your feet warmer than anything else.

Tell me how you get on with the Seal Skinz.

+1 for the Planet X ones.

The bridge between the holes for the cleats and the heel is wearing awful thin, though - this is another problem I've had with all overshoes, however carefully I pull them on.

Another Planet-X overshoe fan here. I've got two types - one is the thick neoprene type with velcro fastening and reflective bits, and the other is slightly thinner and just pulls on over your shoes. Dug mine out of the bottom drawer this morning for the first time this winter, and my toes were toasty when I arrived at work, unlike my thumbs which were well on the way to numbness.

I had a pair .
They're not really winter overshoes. They're more for posing in crits and things like that, I think :D
Be careful when you cut them.
You only need a small vertical incision. Don't try and cut out a cleat shaped hole otherwise, when you put them on and they'll stretch and the hole will spread all over the shoe LOL.

must admit I hate covering my shoes up, why spend all that money on a nice looking pair of shoes and then cover them with ugly black neoprane bags that make your feet look even bigger (mine are already size 11 so big enough as they are). I'll only wear them in very cold/wet weather and forget about any performance improvements to do with reduced drag, I'm afraid the reduction in drag probably wouldn't be enough to change my losses into victories even by one placing.
