A bird in the face, is worth...?

Postby Andrew G » Mon Dec 10, 2007 12:00 pm

I dunno but it made me jump that's for sure.

Commuting this morning, having just descended from "The Fox on the Hill" pub near Herne Hill, a pigeon flew out from a bus shelter right across my face.

I emitted a rather strange noise, sort of a sqwark which was slightly muffled, as it brushed across my nose.

Luckily it was flying across my path, so just my nose brushing / bouncing off the feathered flank. A somewhat perculiar sensation. It was a bit lardy as well so quite soft, this may also explain why it wasn't quick enough to get past before I arrived.

Be careful out there folks we are now under attack from urban wildlife as well as the traffic on our commutes.

Fortunately for me no!
They're just some pics that were doing the rounds on the web a while ago.

Squirrels are just rats with fluffy tails and good PR.

The one hanging out of the brake caliper does look surprised.

Get a few of those and you could make a nice Davy Crockett style hat for the winter.
